Great guests, awesome food, kids friendly drinks, DRAGON cake (Aidan also means fire, but his name means Heaven in Arabic), Nice weather (sunny, so we could open up the sunroom), great activities.
We really had a wonderful time with all our closest dearest friends and their families. We missed one invitee, Miss Mehar and her family.
This is my first time making a cake myself, it came out wonderful and everyone loves the cake. At first, Ammar thought that I would not be able to make it, but it turned out fantastic.
I also prepared every thing by myself, everything is made from scratch, including the bread and pizza dough. I got help from Lisa decorating the basements and filling out goody bags, filling the rice in the "Tumpeng" home made mold (I made this traditional Indonesian 'Tumpeng', means blessing food for any celebration). Because I don't have the tumpeng mold, I just have to be so creative making the mold my self. I also delegated the chicken and the 'kering tempe' (tempeh, peanuts and anchovy dish) to my wonderful friend, Dewi, while I made the rest of the food. Ammar had to go to work until one hour before the party, so he managed to make the vegetable dips.
The food was :
1. Tumpeng yellow rice with all the additions : Chicken, Beef curry, shrimp crackers, marble eggs (telur pindang), kering tempe, etc.
2. Miniature hot dog buns.
3. Caterpillar child's personal pizza
4. Vegetable dips
5. Fruits
6. Sinken boat drink (ginger ale mixed with the whole sorbet cake)
7. Dragon's Fire Cake
I consider the party a success since all the food are done..... especially the kids food.
I also made the tradition of the 1st birthday, having his picture put in a framed mat, and asked people to sign and give their messages to Aidan. I did it to Nadia and I loved it so much that I did it again for Aidan.
God Bless you, Aidan, God bless our family and friends.
I love you so much, big guy!
